A daylong conference, asking experts in various disciplines to consider how, specifically, the present age compares with the last great period of inequality, and what should be learned, and not, from this history. Johnson, Thomas Ferguson, Kay Schlozman, Kim Phillips-Fein, Jeffrey Broxmeyer, Joshua B. Freeman, K. Sabeel Rahman, Elizabeth Clemens and Joseph Stiglitz.
This daylong conference is a joint venture, hosted in partnership with the Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, co-sponsored by the history departments at The Graduate Center and George Mason University, and the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies at York University, and presented with The Stone Center on Socioeconomic Inequality and The Society for History of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era.
